SPC Samlip Eyes KRI’s Certification of Best-Selling Product For 10 Years with its ‘Authentic Cream Bread’

 

 

SPC Samlip announced on June 26 that it is seeking to obtain official certification from the Korea Record Institute (KRI) in the category of ‘single brand’s best-selling cream bread (retail sector, cumulative)’ for its ‘Authentic Cream Bread’, Samlip’s iconic steady seller launched in 1964.

 

This certification could mark the highest sales by a single brand in the cream bread category with a total of 320 million units sold over the past 10 years (January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2022). The length of an ‘Authentic Cream Bread’ sold over this period is about 37,042 km, which is equivalent to the distance of 2,093 round trips to Mount Everest (8,848m).

 

‘Authentic Cream Bread’ is the first product in the Korean baking industry that introduced the plastic packaging technology in 1964. Through small holes on the bread, soft cream that melts in your mouth is injected. When released, it was so popular that people were queueing up outside the production plant early in the morning to get their hands on the bread.

Moreover, in addition to the acquisition of certification from the KRI, we will seek to obtain the world record certification as well.”

 

Meanwhile, The KRI is the Korea’s best institution specializing in record certification that certifies excellent records in Korea as the official best records and requests certification deliberation to overseas record certification organizations such as the U.S. World Record Committee (WRC) on behalf of applicants.
