SPC Group to Donate Emergency Relief Supplies to Areas Damaged by Torrential Rain
SPC Group (Chairman: Hur Young-in) announced on the 9th that it will deliver emergency relief supplies to Seoul, Incheon, and other areas in the capital region affected by the torrential rain on the 8th.
SPC Happy Foundation will donate 3,000 pieces of SPC Samlip bread and bottled water each to the damaged sites through Korean Red Cross. The relief supplies will be used to support disaster victims who are staying at temporary shelters, such as school buildings and gymnasiums, due to the unexpected torrential rain, and relief personnel working at the recovery sites.
“We decided to donate relief supplies in order to be of help to disaster victims who are suffering from the record rainfall,” said an SPC Group official. “SPC Group will continue supporting those who are in need of assistance.”
According to Chairman Hur Young-in’s philosophy to practice sharing and pursue shared growth, SPC Group actively engages in providing relief supplies when disasters and accidents occur. Based on a cooperative system with Korean Red Cross, the company has been donating emergency relief supplies to and supporting recovery in areas affected by natural disasters. SPC Group donated bread, bottled water, and disease prevention items, etc. to the COVID-19 response sites in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do, overseas Koreans in Wuhan, China and Italy in 2020, families of Afghan special contributors in 2021, and forest fire victims in Samcheok and Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do in 2022.
