SPC Group Awards SPC Happy Scholarship to 100 Part-time Students

SPC Group announced on March 2, 2022 that the Group awarded ‘SPC Happy Scholarship’ to 100 college students who are working part-time at stores of affiliated brands, agencies, and partner companies.

Marking its 21st anniversary, the SPC Happy Scholarship is a grant program of SPC Group that has been operated since 2012, following the guidance of Hur Young-in, Chairman of SPC Group, underlining to “support young workers at stores to help them nurture their dreams.”

SPC Group has been supporting 50% of tuition fees for 200 college students a year (100 students per semester) who are working part-time at stores of affiliated brands, including Paris Baguette, Baskin Robbins, Dunkin’, and Pascucci, taking account of their period of continuous service, service behavior, family circumstances, and academic plans. To date, the Group has provided KRW 3.46 billion in accumulation for a total of 1,928 students.

To enhance social values as part of the ESG (environment, society and governance) management, SPC Group began this year to expand the scope of grant recipients to students who are recommended by agencies, partners and outside welfare institutions.

“I have been experiencing difficulty in working and studying simultaneously, but I am greatly encouraged by being selected as a scholarship grantee,” said Kim Yun-jeong who is serving part-time at Express Bus Terminal Store of Paris Baguette.

“We operate the SPC Happy Scholarship to encourage students who are nurturing dreams while working at stores,” said a manager at SPC Group. “We will continue to increase scholarship grants to allow more students to be benefited.”
